On Saturday, December 4, at 10 a.m, the Cortland County Historical Society and the Cortland Free Library present Janie’s Tree, an original story about schoolchildren in 1920s Cortland and the history of Christmas trees.
The read-aloud will be followed by a short discussion of life was like in Cortland 100 years ago. Then we’ll make beaded candy canes to take home.
CCHS’s TIME TRAVEL program features free monthly read-alouds and activities to engage young readers in a greater understanding and appreciation of local and American history.
TIME TRAVEL takes place the first Saturday of every month (except for January 8, 2022) from 10-11 a.m. at the Cortland Free Library. The program is geared to ages 4-8 but all families are welcome. For more information, contact CCHS at (607) 756-6071. To sign up, call the library at (607) 753-1043. Registration is required.
