Mark your calendars because the laughs are coming to Cortland with Comedy Night at the Finger Lakes Tasting & Tap Room on Friday, Jan. 31. Will Phillips is headlining the evening and he'll be sharing the stage with John Deming, Andy Kuhn and Mike Peters.
Tickets are $10 and are available online, at the bar and at the door. The show starts at 8 p.m., and the doors open at 7.
About the comedians:
Mike Peters, a Binghamton comedian, specializes in self-deprecating, observational humor. A contributor for Funny or Die, Peters performed at the Funny Bone in Syracuse, the Greenwich Village Comedy Club in New York City, won the Utica Brews Laugh Contest and Uptown Roast Battle and opened for Super Troopers’ Rabbit, Erik Stolhanske and Gilbert Gottfried. Peters produces shows all over New York and hosts his weekly podcast, On the Mic with Mike Peters.
A Rochester comedian, Andy Kuhn has performed all over the northeastern United States. A new dad and a familiar face in the Rochester scene, Kuhn has hosted shows for Pat McGann and worked with Andrew Schulz, Jessimae Peluso, Dov Davidoff and Rich Voss. He uses his dark humor to blend the recreational activities of his past with his responsibilities as a father beautifully.
John Deming is a veteran of the Provo/Salt Lake City, Utah, comedy scene. He’s performed regularly at Comedy Sportz and BYU’s Humor U over the last four years, along with appearing at Dry Bar Comedy and other venues throughout the intermountain west. Deming has placed in numerous comedic competitions at the dinner table and was voted Second-Least Disappointing Son by his parents in 2014.
A talented comedian, writer and author, Will Phillips is a Utica favorite. He’s the head of content development for Stage Time Trivia, which serves several restaurants around the Central New York area, and co-created the popular KoldCast web series, Murder Squad, D.B.A. Before his stand-up career began, Phillips spent two years working with Family Guy and wrote Hollywood Failure, which was published in 2014.
