Over the course of a decade since returning home to Central New York, I have been lucky to gradually build a career as a private lesson teacher and freelance performer. Since grad school, experiences like becoming a sommelier (now I’m an advocate for an alcohol-free lifestyle!), having a stint as a groom for a traveling equestrian, and many behind-the-scenes jobs in arts organizations shaped me.

In late spring 2024, I transitioned to teaching at a central location at Pebble Hill Presbyterian in Dewitt. This change has allowed me to scale up my lesson studio and the experience of teaching so much has been incredibly rewarding. We’re just getting started! Teaching more lessons has allowed me to scale back on my arts admin work, which I loved and felt full of purpose, but ultimately took precious energy away from my performing goals.

I’m looking forward to 2025 as a year of resuming a more active performance schedule. And, I will be directing two flute choirs (one intermediate and one advanced), which is something so dear to my heart. From grade 8 to the end of high school, I was a member of the CNY Select Youth Flute Choir directed by John Oberbrunner. I took private flute lessons with Dana DiGennaro and flute choir with Mr. Oberbrunner. These experiences were formative to my musical sensibilities and it means so much for my very own flute ensembles to be becoming a reality. My students can have motivation from each other and a sense of community.
