IRENE, the matriarch of her family, has passed away, following her beloved husband Bill into the great hereafter… or, at least, that’s what was supposed to happen. On the day of her funeral, her spirit lingers. Perhaps it’s because she knows that her considerably dysfunctional family needs her to look after them a little while longer.
Of the entire brood, however, the only one who can see and hear Irene is her favorite grandson, Sam. But talking with his dead grandmother is taking a toll on Sam, and raising eyebrows and anxieties among the rest of the family.
Meanwhile, Irene has her own burdens to bear. Though her posthumous family therapy has drawn her beloved Bill back from the beyond to be with her, it has also summoned her accursed mother-in-law, Regina. And ay-yai-yai, has her death brought her family’s dysfunction to a head!
Over the course of her funeral reception, Irene tries to settle her family’s issues once and for all so that she and Bill can enjoy eternity together in peace. But in the end, the members of her family must learn to heal themselves.
