In recognition of the 150th anniversary of the Cortland Normal School, Richard (Rick) Schieffelin will give an illustrated talk on the education of Henry S. Randall (1811-1876), who was the Normal School's founding president, from 1868 to 1876. Rick will provide an overview of Randall's life and formal education and then describe the full range of Randall's efforts to promote and improve education. Enjoy some company and light refreshments after the presentation. There will be tours of the beautiful and historic "Cobblestone Church" after the program for those who are interested.
