From 1901 to the 1940s, Harry C. Ostrander traveled the globe, photographing far-away places and sharing those photos and stories with audiences in museums, schools, churches, and social clubs. He often spoke here while visiting his sister in Homer and is buried in Glenwood Cemetery. His family has recreated his 1901 trip to Egypt using digitized images from hand-painted glass slides and his own words taken from newly discovered newspaper writings. Come and share with us a journey back to a pre-television and internet era – when people learned about the world from traveling story tellers. Presenter: Gail Bundy – Harry Ostrander’s Great Niece Bring your own lunch if you wish, and we will provide dessert and beverages. This program is free and open to the public.
