On Saturday, November 4, from 10-11 a.m., the Cortland Free Library presents Time Travel, a free monthly read-aloud and activity program designed to engage young readers in a greater understanding and appreciation of local and American history, nature, and culture.
Join us this month for All About Money. Why do we use money to get the things we want and need? How was it invented, and what did we do before then? We’ll look at the math of money and figure out how many nickels it takes to make five dollars, and how many quarters are in a hundred dollars. We’ll also explore the balance between saving and spending money. We’ll read The Story of Money (Maestro), Lots and Lots of Coins (Reid), One Proud Penny (Siegel), and more. After a scavenger hunt for different kinds of coins, we’ll design our own money and use it to buy cookies!
Time Travel is geared to ages 4-8 but all families are welcome. Please call the library at (607) 753-1043 to register.
