On Saturday, March 5, at 10 a.m, the Cortland County Historical Society and the Cortland Free Library present Owls Around Us, a program about those fascinating birds you have to stay up late to see. We’ll read from the books Owl: American Indian Legends Retold (Vee Browne, Scholastic); Animal Predators: Owls (Sandra Markle, Carolrhoda Books); and Hoot and Holler (Alan Brown, Knopf). We’ll talk about owls you can find in Cortland and make our own paper bag owl puppets to take home.
CCHS’s TIME TRAVEL program features free monthly read-alouds and activities to engage young readers in a greater understanding and appreciation of local and American history.
TIME TRAVEL takes place the first Saturday of every month from 10-11 a.m. at the Cortland Free Library. The program is geared to ages 4-8 but all families are welcome. For more information, contact CCHS at (607) 756-6071. To sign up, call the library at (607) 753-1043. Registration is required.
