Step inside one of Cortland County’s grandest time capsules during Path Through History Weekend at the 1890 House Museum, June 14–15 from 12pm to 4pm. As part of New York State’s I LOVE NY Path Through History initiative—designed to spotlight the state’s rich cultural legacy—this special event invites visitors to explore the lavish Gilded Age home of industrialist Chester Wickwire.

Throughout the weekend, guests can enjoy guided tours (offered hourly at 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, and 3pm), special exhibits, and light refreshments, all set within the striking stone mansion that once dominated Cortland’s skyline. The 1890 House offers a fascinating glimpse into the opulence, innovation, and intrigue of a bygone era—perfect for history buffs, architecture lovers, and curious travelers alike.
