Opening Reception Friday night for “a 30-year Visual Diary of a Local Artist” at Cortland Free Library! Come see the retrospective exhibit of David Beale from 5 to 7 pm.

 

“We are all unique. For me, creating my own paintings packs a tremendous amount of emotion when I look back over them, much more than a written diary. The feelings I had, both during the event and also during the painting process, come rushing back. In plein air, they coincide. In some large, more contemplative paintings, the process spanned years when I have set one aside in progress and patiently waited for the moment it would speak to me about the next step. I hope you can enjoy some of the immense joy of life that I have felt while painting this selection and several thousand others!”
