90th Anniversary Fundraiser to Benefit Cortland Loaves & Fishes

This year marks the 90th Anniversary of the Community Restaurant located in downtown Cortland.

Unfortunately, we cannot celebrate this milestone the way we had originally planned due to COVID-19. When the proposed shutdown of our business became a reality our first thought was to just close and “throw in the towel.” How could we ever survive this? Creativity was key and our amazing staff rose to the occasion. We have transformed ourselves from “dining in only” to “take out, delivery and curbside”: a concept we never thought could be successful.

The response to what has transpired over the past two months has been overwhelmingly positive. The support the community has shown us is immeasurable!

In appreciation for all the kindness and patience that has been shown to us during these trying times, those of us at The Community have chosen to celebrate our 90th by giving back to our community! We will be organizing a fundraiser in support of Loves and Fishes, an organization dedicated to feeding those in need.

On Sunday, June 14 for 3 hours we will serve a very limited menu at a low cost of $10 with 100% of the proceeds going to support the mission of Loaves and Fishes: to provide free, nutritious meals and gentle hospitality with “No questions asked and no judgement passed.”
