Even though cakes are great for eating, they also add a certain charm to a room. Learn to make cakes that last forever at the Center for the Arts gallery, by using spackle and styrofoam instead of butter and sugar.

Lily Byrne will guide attendees through the creation of either two small cakes or one life-size cake, over the course of two sessions. The small cakes can be turned into magnets.

Fake cakes can make thoughtful gifts and unique home decor, and are a great technique to learn if you have any interest in prop-making.

In the first session, attendees will “frost” and decorate their cakes. The cakes will dry overnight, and then attendees will return the next night for a painting session.
