Discover the Secrets of the Erie Canal at Taylor Town Hall

The Taylor Historical Society invites the community to step back in time and celebrate the 200th anniversary of one of New York’s greatest engineering achievements—the Erie Canal.

On Monday, September 15 at 7:00 p.m., Derrick Pratt of the Erie Canal Museum of Syracuse will present “The Basics of the Erie Canal” at Taylor Town Hall (3304 State Route 26, Taylor, NY). This engaging program will explore how the canal transformed New York State and the nation, fueling commerce, culture, and innovation.

The event is free and open to the public, making it the perfect opportunity for history buffs, families, and anyone curious about the waterway that forever changed America’s story.

This program is made possible through funds from the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Governor, the New York State Legislature, and administered by CNY Arts.
