Sunday Afternoon Dances at Cortland County Music Park
1824 NY-13
Cortland, NY 13045
A long-time tradition at the Country Music Park, the Sunday Afternoon Barn Dance is where community, live music, and country heritage come together. Every Sunday, the Opry Barn fills with the sounds of fiddles, guitars, and classic country rhythms that get feet tapping and folks out on the dance floor.
For decades, these gatherings have been a cornerstone of the park’s mission: to celebrate and preserve the spirit of country music in New York State. Whether you’re a seasoned two-stepper, a square dance enthusiast, or just looking for an afternoon of good music and great company, you’ll find a warm welcome here.
The Sunday Dances aren’t just about the music—they’re about friendship, laughter, and keeping a proud tradition alive. Generations have learned their first dance steps in this very barn, and each week new memories are made under its rafters.
Additionally, one Sunday per month, we make a live recording of the Ole Cortland Opry Show – a once-monthly radio program, recorded with a live audience and broadcast on Always Classic 101.5FM (WXHC) and Q Country 103.7FM. Presented by the Statewide Country Music Association and Hosted by the charismatic D. B. Alverson, each show features a toe-tappin’ lineup of local and regional bands, special guests, heartfelt storytelling, and classic charm.
So grab your boots, bring your friends, and join us for an afternoon of music, dancing, and community spirit. The Barn Dance isn’t just an event—it’s a tradition, a gathering place, and a living heartbeat of the Country Music Park.
