Happy 248 Birthday to the good ol' US of A. She sure looks good for her age. And what better way to celebrate than small-town style, where our flavors, fun, and fireworks are extra large! Here a just a few of the places you can spend a summer day celebrating with the family before the grand finale.


CINCINNATUS HOMETOWN DAYS & FIREWORKS
June 29-30 (8am-9pm)
Throughout Downtown Cincinnatus

Are you ready to celebrate Independence Day in small-town style? From talent shows to redoes, fried food and rock & roll, Cincinnatus is dishing out country charm and fireworks all weekend long!

CINCINNATUS FIRE DEPARTMENT FIELD DAYS
Saturday & Sunday, June 29-30 (10am-10pm)

Bring the whole family for a day filled with fun, including inflatables, push ball, tractor pulls, a dunking booth, classic car show, chicken BBQ, vendors, a parade, and the grande finale- a fireworks show on Sunday at dusk.
 
CINCINNATUS AREA HERITAGE SOCIETY
Sunday, June 29 (12pm-5pm)

Heritage Hall, Alice's Museum, Alice's Schoolhouse are all hosting a family-friendly open house. Take a step back in time and enjoy
old-fashioned ice cream floats and yummy hotdogs. Shop historical items, try your hand at some lawn games and cheer on the 4-H pedal tractor pulls. The annual talent show will be held on Sunday at 1pm, at Heritage Hall. Want to showcase your talent? Contact cincyheritage@gmail.com to sign up!
 
THE 29th ANNUAL READING OF THE U.S. DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE
Thursday, July 4 (10am)
Center for the Arts of Homer
 
July 4, is the 29th Annual public reading of the United States Declaration of Independence. Everyone is invited to gather at the Center for the Arts of Homer at 10am on Thursday, July 4, to commemorate this document that is one essential part of our Charters of Liberty. Charles W. Jermy, Jr. and Charles W. Jermy III will recount the circumstances that led up to the Declaration’s adoption in 1776 and talk briefly about its signers. After they describe the fates of some of the signers, those in attendance will be invited to read aloud a short portion of the Declaration. Following the reading, bells in the buildings surrounding the Homer Village Green will ring fifty times. All are welcome to join this community-wide commemoration of the 248th birthday of the United States of America, free of charge.

GREEK PEAK FIREWORKS

July 5 (at dusk)
Hope Lake Park

Join Greek Peak Mountain Resort at Hope Lake Park on July 5 an evening filled with fireworks, live music, mouthwatering food, and endless fun! Enjoy boating, fishing, and swimming on the lake. Don't forget to bring blankets and lawn chairs to relax and enjoy the fabulous fireworks display at dusk.

CORTLAND COUNTY INDEPENDENCE DAY SPECTACULAR
July 6 (2-10 pm)
Dwyer Memorial Park

Celebrate freedom and family all day long on July 6 at Cortland County’s Annual Fireworks event! Included in this year’s event will feature live local music. Bring your appetite; several local food vendors will be on hand throughout the afternoon as well as a cash bar. Center for the Arts is providing a day filled with live music on the outdoor stage!

The annual fireworks show kicks off at dusk and will be bigger, better, and longer this year! Don’t forget to turn your radio to x101 Always Classic for the annual sky concert during the show.

There is a $5 charge per vehicle to enter the park for the day. In the event of rain, the show will be on July 7.
