Let's Go Girls, It's Galentines Day!
While many people are fussing over red roses, chocolates, and perfect dates this time of year, we'd like to take a moment to honor the oft-unsung hero of every relationship- our bestie. They've been there through every breakup with a pint of ice cream and every first date with outfit advice. They are always there to spill the tea, share a laugh, and make mischief. So this year, remember to celebrate your best friend on Galentines Day, February 13. We've put together a Cortland County itinerary to make it an unforgettable event.
LADIES WHO BRUNCH
Brunch. Because who doesn't love an excuse for a bit of champagne with their breakfast? Who better to go screaming down the side of a mountain with than your best friend?! Make epic memories filled with laughter (and maybe a hint of terror) by booking a ride on Greek Peak's Mountian Coaster. Might I suggest you don matching silly hats for the occasion? While you're there, why not up the ante with a friendly zip line challenge? With four duel lines, you can bring the whole squad. Whoever screams loudest buys the first round! This adventure is guaranteed to fule inside jokes for years to come.
NAILS & COCKTAILS
Now that you're entirely windblown and tears of laughter have frozen to your face, it's time to head over to the salon! Waterfalls Spa will whip you up for a night on the town in no time. Treat your best friend to a manicure, facial, or (our favorite) a blowout because your hair never looks better than when someone else styles it. Sit back, relax and sip some bubbly while the staff fawns over you and your fabulous friend.
ICED COFFEE AND SHOPPING
Avoid hanger with a quick stop at Sinfully Sweet Cafe. You've had a big day, and iced coffee and a sweet treat are just what you need to put a little pep in your step. The cafe's giant, fresh-baked cookies are the size of your face and perfect for sharing. Or don't. A best friend never judges. Be sure to take your coffee to go because the day isn't over yet!
Que the shopping montage! Downtown Homer is the perfect spot for a bit of shopping with your bestie. From home goods to boutique fashion, there's a bit of something for everyone's taste.
DINNER AND DRINKS
Dinner at Dasher's Corner Pub is always an event. Be sure to treat yo'self (and your besties) to a cocktail mixed in their antique cocktail shaker machine. It rumbles the length of the entire bar, guaranteeing a load of laughter with your drinks. Dasher's has a huge selection of dishes designed to share with the table, the spicy shrimp nachos and made-to-order guacamole are staff favorites. Make sure to save room for dessert; after all, they are housemade, and galentines day only happens once a year.
