The Trucks Are Coming: The Brockway Truck Show Rumbles into Homer
Every summer, the quiet streets of Homer, NY, rumble to life with the sound of vintage engines, honking horns, and hometown pride. It’s not just any weekend, it’s Brockway Weekend! The Annual National Brockway Truck Show rolls into town August 6–9, and you're invited to be part of the celebration.
Whether you're a lifelong Brockway buff, a classic truck newbie, or just looking for something unforgettable to do this summer, this weekend promises history, horsepower, and a whole lot of family fun.
A Legendary Truck with Hometown Roots
Built right here in Cortland from 1912 to 1977, Brockway Trucks were known for their custom craftsmanship, rugged performance, and that unmistakable husky dog hood ornament. (Hence Cortland’s nickname: Huskie Town, USA.)
What started as a one-time event for the city's bicentennial in 2000 has grown into one of the longest-running historic truck shows in New York State, drawing more than 100 trucks, and fans from across the country, every year.
So, What's Happening at Brockway Weekend?
Thursday, August 6
Things kick off Thursday evening with the Brockway Ice Cream Cruise-In at Shipwreck Amusements (759 Route 13, Cortland) from 6:00 PM. It's the perfect mix of Brockway trucks, soft serve, and mini golf. What more could you want?
Friday, August 7
10:00 AM: The Craig Morgan Memorial Huskie Drive rolls out from the CNY Living History Center, taking vintage Brockways on a scenic countryside cruise. A Celebration of Life luncheon follows at the museum. (Pre-registration requested.)
5:30–7:00 PM: Come hungry for an Italian fundraising dinner at the CNY Living History Center, then stick around for the evening festivities. Every dollar helps preserve Brockway history. (Reservations required.)
7:00 PM: Don't miss the Brockway Live Auction, featuring memorabilia and unique finds.
9:30 PM: Wrap up the night with a spectacular fireworks display behind the museum.
Saturday, August 8
This is the big one, National Brockway Truck Show Day in the Village of Homer!
8:30 AM: The Brockway Parade departs from the CNY Living History Center and cruises into Homer.
9:00 AM–4:00 PM: Main Street transforms into a living truck museum, with beautifully restored Brockways lining the streets from Route 90 to Route 41. Browse vendors, enjoy live music, grab something to eat, and spend the day exploring one of the country's largest gatherings of Brockway trucks.
3:00 PM: Head to the Village Green for the awards presentation honoring this year's standout trucks.
5:00–6:30 PM: Finish the day with Bob's BBQ and the Former Employee Recognition Dinner back at the CNY Living History Center. (Reservations required.)
Sunday, August 9
Still rolling? Stop by the CNY Living History Center for the Pancake Breakfast and Cruise-In from 8:00–11:00 AM. No reservations are needed—just come hungry and enjoy one last morning surrounded by classic Brockways before heading home.
