A Local Historian’s Efforts to Celebrate “America 250!” - Saturday, October 17, 1:00 pm, Central New York Living History Center. Presentation by Martin Sweeney - Author, Historian, and Former Tour Guide for Historic Homer, N.Y. Martin Sweeney is the public historian for the Town and Village of Homer. He thinks the community should have ways to participate in celebrating “America 250!” 

He will share what he has learned about how some past July Fourths were celebrated in the Village and Town of Homer and the efforts he is undertaking for continued local observance of the national celebration.

Learn about Martin’s play to be performed in November at the Homer Center for the Arts. Titled Tales Along the Tioughnioga, the two-act play will see figures from Homer's past come alive to tell of Homer's role in American history. Refreshments after the presentation.
