The Cortland Free Library will host “Cat Tales: Artistic Renderings of Our Feline Companions,” an exhibit and sale sponsored by the Groton Art Class. The themed community exhibit, showcasing the work by students and colleagues of class instructor David Beale, will run from December 1 through the end of January.

The event will also serve as a fundraiser, with 20% of proceeds from sales of artwork being donated equally to the Cortland County SPCA and CNY SNAP. Sherry Ewanciw,
Office Manager and Adoption Coordinator at the SPCA, welcomes the support. “Our organization continually strives to improve the lives of animals through our medical programs, including our Spay/Neuter Clinics and our Wellness Program Clinics, as well as fostering, rescue, and adoptions. We are grateful to the Groton Art Group for its efforts in raising funds to advance our mission.”

The public is invited to an opening reception in the library’s gallery on Friday, December 1, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be available, and there will be a raffle of an original watercolor painting, donated by Beale.
