A new exhibit at the Cortland County Historical Society will display costumes, objects, and photographs that showcase the 6-year long fight against a nuclear waste dump site in Taylor!

In December 1988, Cortland County citizens were shocked by the news that their home was on the list of sites considered for nuclear waste disposal. What followed was an amazing example of an entire community, people from all walks of life, uniting to fight off this threat to home and health. Many in Cortland today might have forgotten or never even knew that their very own neighbors, teachers, and even family members played a part in the fight. Come learn about this important reminder of the power capable of a community that joins together!
