Family Arbor Day Event at Little York Plantation

Little York Plantation, in celebration of its 50th year and Arbor Day, is providing tree seedlings for planting. The seedlings are from the Colonel William F. Fox Memorial Saratoga Tree Nursery, the Department of Environmental Conservation and New York State.
You may choose 4 seedlings out of 12 different varieties of trees, while supplies are available. There may be more seedlings to purchase at a nominal fee later in the day.

Planting instructions, information on the trees we have chosen, and some photos will be available on our website. We will also have larger specimens of the plants available for you to see at the Nursery. That way you can see what you tree “babies” will turn into! Of course, we will also have our staff available to answer any of your questions on where, when and how to plant, and some information you can take with you.

This is a great activity for kids, and something for all of us to do to contribute to the beauty of our home properties, and our community. The world is a better place with more trees!

Come out, pick up your trees, stroll the Nursery, and look at the annuals and perennials getting ready for the spring!
