Art — as seen through the eyes of schoolchildren and their art teachers — will be presented at a forthcoming exhibition at SUNY Cortland’s Dowd Gallery starting on Monday, March 6.

Curated in a partnership with Cortland County art teachers, the exhibition, titled “Imagination Celebration,” will run through Friday, April 14.

An Opening Reception will be held from 4 to 7:40 pm on Thursday, March 9, in the gallery, located in the Dowd Fine Arts Center at the corner of Prospect Terrace and Graham Avenue. The exhibition and related events are free and open to the public. The opening reception event will double as a secondary school student pottery sale and fundraiser, “Empty Bowls,” with purchases to benefit Loaves & Fishes, a local organization that provides free meals to the community.

Showcasing the work of both student artists and their mentors, “Imagination Celebration” will include K-12 students and teachers from McGraw School, Homer Central School District, Cortland City Schools, Onondaga Cortland Madison Board of Cooperative Educational Services, and St. Mary’s School.
