From September 22 through 23, Cortland, NY won’t just be the city of gym teacher students and unemployed factory workers—it’ll be the city of short funny animated films. The Duck And Red Octopus Short Funny Stop-Action and Animated Film Festival will feature workshops, guest speakers, film premieres, director Q&As and more.

Guest judges include, but are not limited to -

Tom Kenny, an American actor and comedian. He is known for the voice of SpongeBob SquarePants. Tom also voiced Heffer Wolfe in Rocko’s Modern Life, The Ice King in Adventure Time, The Narrator and Mayor in The Powerpuff Girls, Carl Chryniszzswics in Jonny Bravo and Dog in CatDog. Tom’s live-action work includes the film Shakes The Clown, the comedy variety shows The Edge and Mr. Show. Tom has won 2 Daytime Emmy Awards, 2 Ace Awards and 2 Annie Awards for his voice work as SpongeBob SquarePants and the Ice King.

Peter Hannan, a producer, animator, singer-songwriter, author, illustrator, artist, and entrepreneur. Hannan is the creator, executive producer, and show runner of the Nickelodeon series CatDog, for which he also wrote and sang the theme song. He is currently the story editor, sometime songwriter, and interstitial producer of the animated PBS Kids series Let’s Go Luna!. He has created and developed properties for numerous studios. He works as a character designer and writes for various other animated series.

Gene Grillo, a writer known for the animated series’ Teen Titans Go!, Back At The Barnyard, Kung Fu Panda: Legends Of Awesomeness, Scoob, Jimmy Neutron and Johnny Bravo. He was the winner of The Primetime Emmy Award for Writing in an Animated Program and nominated for the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program.

The event will take place at The Ake Gallery, one of the world’s most spectacular semi-serious art venues in the heart of the edge of the Finger Lakes region at the height of fall foliage and deer tick season.
