Freshly fallen snow on bluebird days just begs us to get outside and play. Whether you are an avid outdoorsman or new to cold-weather adventures, Lime Hollow Nature Center offers two ways everyone in the family can explore the woods in winter.
Lime Hollow's Nordic Center provides cross-country ski and snowshoe rentals. Let a knowledgeable staff member help you to choose the right size equipment and give you a few pointers to get you started. Then you are off to explore over 12 miles of snowshoe trails and a 2.4-mile cross country ski loop. These trails will take you through the forest, into open meadows and along creeks and ponds. Search the snow for signs of animal trails and the treetops for winter birds. When you are done, stop back in the nature center for a warm-up, and take in the fantastic educational displays.
Have your own equipment? No problem! The trails are open dawn to dusk, free of charge.

Rentals will be available on the weekends starting Saturday, January 8th (only during suitable snow conditions) and Monday through Friday, 10am-4pm. Please note that equipment is limited and available on a first-come-first-serve basis - reservations are recommended.
