Fall pumpkin picking is a tradition for many this time of year. The leaves on the trees have started to change, it's almost sweater weather, and hot chocolate is replacing ice cream. Picking your own perfect pumpkin is the thrill of the hunt. Whether you want the largest one you can carry or the perfect shape for your carving, half the fun is finding it!
This past weekend we visited Theresa's Pumpkin Patch in Little York, next door to Anderson's Farm Market. This pumpkin patch is great for families because it is easily accessible from your car to the pumpkins. If you plan on getting a few or even just one large pumpkin you can borrow one of the many wheelbarrows available. We recommend getting one before you start out because even if you plan on picking just one pumpkin, there are so many beautiful ones out there that you never know!
The kids will have fun on their own search for there pumpkins. There is a special section with tiny pumpkins too. See if they can notice what else lurks in this pumpkin patch... dragons! But we've been told they are very friendly and they don't seem to move too much. You can also buy lots of different types of gourds, and squash like acorn or spaghetti.
If you're looking for even more fall favorites don't forget to stop inside to Anderson's Farm Market!
