Eric Kroot Art Trail and the Tamarack Art Meadow are especially magical this time of year, and the sculptures inspire easy conversation.

Crown City Cinemas. Hear me out. Yes, a movie theater can be crowded, but it's also a spot where you're meant to do the opposite of talk. Shhhh. Silence is golden. Theaters are for sharing popcorn, clutching your date during the scary scenes and trying to act cool when you spill the Skittles all over the floor. As a bonus, the film will give you something to talk about afterward over a drink or ice cream (FYI, Super Cream Dairy Bar is open year-round). 

While playing games with your heart is never acceptable, playing a new board game definitely is. Make a trip to the Cortland Corset Building, stop at Area 51 & The Crowes Nest and pick out a new game together. On your way home, drop into Cortland Beer Co. for a growler and grab some tacos from Los Lagos. Bam, everything you need to finish the rest of the night from the comfort of your couch!

FOR THE ROMANIC AT HEART: If you mainly answered twos, you're probably a romantic at heart. You most likely remember the song playing during your first kiss and share silly pet names stemming from ridiculous inside jokes. We're looking at you, pookie bear. Cortland County is just the place to keep your romance spicy, no matter how long you've been holding hands for.

Pottery Works Cortland offers a Dirty Date Night, where you can reimagine your favorite scenes from Ghost. You and your partner will bond while attempting to create something out of clay on a potter’s wheel. (No prior experience is required.) A Pottery Works instructor will assist each of you with basic techniques. You will each get to keep the bowl or cylinder, or weird lump you're calling a vase, that you have created. Much laughter is guaranteed, with the potential for further pet name creation.

Heartache so great that perhaps Mr. Wickwire's eternal soul never departed? Gasp! Clutch your date when you hear a door creak behind you and promptly declare your undying affection. Victorian pet names are not guaranteed. 

FOR THE FOODIE: If you mainly answered threes, you are probably a foodie at heart.  It's been said the quickest way to someone's heart is through their stomach. If the first ingredient in each of your recipes is love, then you're in the right place. Cortland County is full of places to feed your soul and your face on your next date.

The Glen Haven is a quintessential destination for the traveling foodie. Located on the southern end of pristine Skaneateles Lake, The Glen Haven restaurant has been serving locals and visitors alike for eight decades. Famous for its delicately smoked menu, the smoked wings and the charcuterie board are the best place to start. However, their piece de resistance is their housemade pasta. Hand-made fettuccine is served with freshly baked bread and your choice of alfredo, pesto or marinara. We recommend topping it with the blackened smoked salmon for a serious punch of flavor. Not only is their food fantastic, but when it comes to ambiance, they have it in spades. The historic inn offers spectacular sunset views over the lake, making it befitting of its tagline, "South End of Paradise."

Over the past decade, beer has evolved from dewy cans served at family BBQs to a craft beverage experience. Now, microbrews boast tasting notes, locally sourced ingredients, and limited batches. Grab your date and a pint of Real Freak Naughty, a fruited sour from Homer Hops Brewing and catch a live show. Or, head over to McGraw Box Brewing Co. for a pint of their German Pale Ale, Better Together Kolsch and a few rounds of corn hole. If you're feeling particularly clever, join Cortland Beer Co.'s Trivia Night and sip on a pint of Naked Lap Lager. 

It's a long-held belief that oysters are an aphrodisiac. Dasher's Corner Pub is the best place to find them in Cortland County. Their blue points oyster are flown if fresh and have a firm, crisp texture with a sweet aftertaste that sparkles with salinity. Don't forget to stop across the street at Sinfully Sweet Cafe for a box of housemade bonbons or chocolate-covered strawberries for after. 

FOR THE WILD AT HEART: If you answered mostly fours, you're most likely wild at heart. You have a deep sense of adventure and find impromptu picnics, spontaneous road trips and public displays of affection wildly romantic.  When it comes to dates, an ordinary dinner and movie just won't do. Don't worry; Cortland County is filled with romantic adventures just waiting for you.

Profess your love publicly, from under the theater lights, at Center for the Arts of Homer's open mic night every Tuesday.  Woo your sweetheart with interpretive dance, passionate prose or a fabulous freestyle.  Willingly enduring the potential for public humiliation will only further prove your affection. Or, at the very least, make for some good inside jokes on your next road trip.  I double-dog dare you.

Things get wild in the dark. Especially if you're playing a round of black light golf at Shipwrecked Amusements.  Newly redesigned, the pirate-themed indoor put-put golf course is a real adventure. You and your date can swashbuckle the bad guys and swipe the captain's booty. After you've won the treasure (and maybe played a few rounds of ski ball), make your way to Smash Me 607, a local food truck favorite, for some burgers and fries parked under the stars.
