Join Experience Cortland at She Shines, a toast to Cortland County's leading ladies on March 7, 5-8pm at Homer Hops Brewing. Click here for event info.
She Shines promises to be an evening filled with inspiration, camaraderie, and the chance to support and discover the diverse talents of women in various industries, including retail, health and wellness, and local arts. The festivities will include a collection of women vendors offering unique products and services, highlighting the entrepreneurial spirit thriving in Cortland County. Explore a variety of offerings, from handcrafted goods to health and wellness services and stunning artwork from local artists.
Tourism trailblazers include local artists Emily Gibbons, Crystal Lyon of Living Illusion Studio and Molly Reagan of Good Neighbor Art, each offering original art for purchase. Treat yourself to an evening of whole-body wellness, starting with Jen Rafferty of Empowered Educator. Be sure to swing by the immersive "Calming Corner" hosted by The Wellness Studio (featuring Heart Centered Yoga, Meditation Mama and Fitness by Mackenzie). Then, shop for holistic and natural goods at Horsetail Herb Farm and Daisy Hollow Farm.
Refresh your fit with vintage finds from Crown City Curiosities and one-of-a-kind accouterments from Juni Dee Jewelry. Be sure to stuff your shopping bag with hand-crafted pieces from Artisian Elements and Cinch Arts Space, as well as intricate macrame from Maslins Guarden. Feeling creative? Stop by Forged From Ashe Studios to schedule a mosaic workshop, or visit Potter Works Cortland to learn how you can get your hands muddy.
Don't forget to strap on your dancing shoes! Bees Knees Burlesque Academy is going to get your heart pumping with a free mini burlesque class taught by Drea Darling and Ivory Noire. Sip Homer Hops craft beer and seltzers while you belt out your favorite tunes as Tracy Thompson and Kat Walters of The High Road take the stage for an acoustic set from 5:30 to 7:30pm.
In addition to celebrating women's achievements, She Shines will also serve as a fundraising opportunity for the Grace Brown House, a supportive housing residence in Cortland dedicated to providing support and shelter to survivors of domestic violence and their families. Homer Hops Brewery has generously pledged to donate $1 from every drink purchased during the event to support the vital services provided to the Grace Brown House by the YWCA Cortland. So drink up! It's for a good cause, after all.
While the She Shines event is at the heart of Experience Cortland’s participation in the Brave Women FLX campaign, the celebration honoring historic trailblazers and today's innovative women business owners extends an entire week!
