During fall, it's all apple all the time, and there's no better place to get your apple fix than Hollenbeck's Cider Mill! The Cortland County staple has opened its doors for their 88th season, and although the experience may be a little different this year, you can still get your all your favorite fall treats delivered right to you car!
Keep reading for how to navigate the season.
THE BASICS
The cider mill is currently operating on a hybrid drive-thru/curbside pickup model only, which means no entry allowed in the building for anyone other than staff.
At the moment, weekends are exclusively for pickup of orders prior to 1 p.m. After 1 p.m. all products are available on a first come, first served basis. If you have a hankering for a pumpkin pie Monday through Friday, all items will be available for preorders, as well on a first come, first served basis.
Please note, plans will change based on the changing situation, and in an effort to improve their customer experience. Click below - and bookmark the page - for the most up-to-date COVID-19 protocols.
DRIVE-THRU INSTRUCTIONS
Hollenbeck's has created two different traffic patterns to accommodate the varying number of customers on the weekends verses the weekdays.
If you choose to come on Saturday or Sunday, enter through what is traditionally the delivery entrance/exit, drive behind and along the east side of the building and finally across the front of the building. You will then be greeted by a Hollenbeck's staff member who will provide you with all of your goodies. On weekdays, traffic will flow more traditionally in and out through the normal entrance and exit, respectively, and along the front of the building for the same pick up process.
To help make the process run smoother, keep a lookout for the abundance of signage, arrows and roped off areas to help you navigate the new traffic pattern.
Please remain in your vehicles at all times. Pop open your trunk or roll down your passenger side window so the staff can place your treats in your car.
APPLES, PIES AND DONUTS, OH MY!
Although the menu is a little shorter than usual, rest assured all the Hollenbecks favorites are still available. As the season moves forward, they hope to add back most, if not all of the items currently not available.
Apples
They offer a varying selection of New York state apples through the fall and winter months including, but not limited to, Honeycrisp, Macoun, Northern Spy, Idared, Jonagold and Fuji. You can also expect McIntosh and Cortlands all season long.
Cider
From Opening Day until the weekend after Halloween, the staff will press their famous blend of cider both Saturday and Sunday. When the needs arises, weekday pressing will take place. Their cider has no additives and is UV filtered for the best tasting, purest apple cider.
Donuts
Donuts will be made Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. until after Halloween.
Pies
As always, the bakery will be whipping up an array of seasonal pies. While Apple and Dutch Apple will be available everyday, other varieties will become available when ingredients are in season: Pumpkin, Pecan, Blueberry, Dutch Blueberry, Cherry, Dutch Cherry and more.
Store
Hollenbeck's offers a wide selection of cheeses from the sharpest Cheddars to curds and spreads. They have a selection of jams, jellies and preserves, as well as local honey and maple products.
HOW TO ORDER
You can order by phone during normal business hours, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Sunday. If you're in front of a computer, take advantage of their brand new online store to place an order and pay. Please remember, orders must be placed the day prior to pickup.
If you choose to take your changes and swing by the cider mill, they accept cash, cash and credit/debit cards.
