Lime Hollow Center for Environment & Culture
Cortland, NY 13045
Cortland County has an abundance of year-round, all-season, outdoor adventures opportunities so it's hard to narrow it down if you've only got one day. The following itinerary provides some fantastic outdoor options for you to enjoy...
After you get settled, lace up your hiking shoes and get to the Lime Hollow Nature Center to hike, run, and jump to your heart’s content. Explore the beautiful rolling hills, and shallow glacial valleys, forests, streams, and numerous ponds as you walk the over 12 miles of open-to-the-public, entrance-fee free trails. Take a walk down the Eric Kroot Art Trail and the Tamarack Art Meadow which displays nature-inspired outdoor art exhibits created by young people and local artists.
The Greek Peak Adventure Center has several ways to enjoy the great outdoors during the summer months, but the Zip Line Tour is the only way you can explore it from the sky! Soar over Virgil's spectacular landscape and take in the view from approximately 60 feet above the ground. Fly at speeds over 40 miles per hour on our 1,300-foot long zip line, crossing over the Nor’Easter Mountain Coaster and gliding high above the mountain stream. Feeling competitive? Challenge your friends to a race. All our zip lines are dual.
When you're worn out from all the excursions, head to Brix Pubaria for a cold beer and one of their 11 specialty brick oven pizzas on the menu. Don't forget about dessert at Super Scoops in Homer, NY - you've earned it!
So get out there and enjoy Cortland County the way you were meant to — outdoors!
