WHAT TO EXPECT

Mark your calendars for the 52 Annual CNY Maple Fest, held in the heart of downtown Marathon. Sample still warm maple, hot off the evaporator. Enjoy a carriage ride through the sugar bush, or brave an airboat ride down the river through town. Eat, play and shop till you drop at this two-day tribute to all things maple. 

PANCAKE EATING CONTEST

The 52nd CNY Mapleam Festival kicks off with the annual Pancake Eating Contest, located in the Marathon Highschool Auditorium at 9. The newly crowned Maple Festival Queen and her court will be greeting the hungry pancake eaters, who are eating pancakes to raise funds for not-for-profit organizations. It is a 15-minute contest filled with fun and good cheer. Not a contestant? You can still join in on the fun with the bottomless pancake breakfast. 

SUGAR SHACK & MAPLE MUSEUM

Witness maple made, from sap to syrup in the sugar shack. Then, make your way to the Maple Museum for more sweet goodness than you can shake a stick at! From syrup to sundaes, candies to popcorn, maple is king! 

HISTORIC REENACTMENT

History comes alive all weekend long on the town green! Explore a tee-pee and watch wood-whittling demos. Learn about the lives of the trappers and exploreers who settled in the town of Marathon. 

ARTS & CRAFTS

Shop over 60 vendors! This show boasts everything from fine art to homemade jams. Artisans fill the high school and the civic center with all manner of jewelry, woodworking, leather goods, fiber arts, homemade soaps, teas and pottery. The selection is endless.

MAPLE MOBILE RACES

The old-fashioned box cart races are a real hoot! Kids spend months working on their box cart creations, and there is no shortage of clever ideas and fun interpretations. The Maple Mobile Races take place on Saturday and are located behind the NBT Bank. Pick a favorite or cheer them all on. It's a barrel of laughs not to be missed. 

PARKING & FEES

The best thing about the CNY Maple Festival? There are no entry or parking fees! All demonstrations are free! So, bring the kids and grandma too. Park at the Marathon Elementary School and take a complimentary shuttle right into the heart of the festival.
