Snowmobiling

Snowmobiling club in Marathon, NY.  Club meetings are the first Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Marathon Fire Station. Please attend and support our club.

The Seven Valley Snow Goers snowmobile club is a NYSSA member! Maintaining State Corridor Trail 5A from Virgil to Preble, including Cortland and Homer in lovely central New York.

One of the original and oldest clubs in the county, was incorporated in 1972. Early records show 20 to 30 members, with many being families. Activities and interests included hot dog roasts and family rides from a member's camp on a Sunday afternoon with downhill sledding for the children. As more people began riding snowmobiles, the club saw a need for trail development to assure landowner permission for use of their property. Bridges needed to be built and trails needed to be marked. Because there was no New York State trail Fund at that time the club held pancake breakfasts and raffles to raise money for materials needed.
