Casterline Pond is a quaint pond on the outskirts of Homer. Located directly off Route 11, its newly constructed wooden platform is easy to spot. It is stocked with trout each spring, ensuring an easy catch for the little ones. The fishing platform is wheelchair accessible.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Casterline is a small 11-acre pond, that reaches 25' at its deepest. Electric motors are permitted in the pond, but its small stature makes it better suited for kayaks and paddleboards. You will find brown trout, rainbow trout, largemouth bass, pumpkinseed sunfish, bluegill, and crappie along the weedy shore. Casterline is also a popular ice fishing spot. There are no amenities on the premises, so be sure to practice Leave No Trace principles. The DEC asks that you properly disinfect your boat before and after to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species. DEC Procedures To Prevent the Spread of Aquatic Invasive Species.
